Easier to adjust the UQs, overall more simple, and as Cannibal said more open. I will use a poncho liner to drape over the ridgeline when things get extra cold or wet. I might even use this as part of my light weight small packing set up (skeeter net, 3/4 down UQ etc). When it will end up on my DR650, weight/space are a premium. It may also be used as a part of my carry on travel kit in places like Kenya or even Samara Russia. Luggage has a habit of "losing" stuff in Kenya and so carry on for critical items.

P.S. I have the kitchen pass...man shopping tomorrow.
