BB knee ridge - hammock weight selection

I didn't want to hijack a different thread, but Brandon's reply on that thread intrigued me.

I'm 6'0" and weigh in right now about 225. I'm back on my workout regimen and hope to be down around 200 in 3-4 months.

I've spent ~10 nights in my 1.7 BB dbl. I've had a couple of those "perfect" hangs with very little knee ridge pressure, and have had a couple of hangs where I just had to get out and re-adjust to get a good hang. I know it's all in practice, practice practice... but...

Reading Brandon's response made me wonder if I might get a better hang from a 1.1 dbl rather than a 1.7 dbl???

Has anyone else compared the two?

I'm leaning towards just buying one and trying it out. I can always re-sell it.

I don't have any experience with a 1.1 double, but I recently sold my 1.7 double and got a 1.1 single which seems to be a better fit for my weight and build. I experienced the knee ridge thing you're talking about with the 1.7 double and it finally got to me enough to make the change.

So, Ridge problem solved? What is your weight and is all good with that 1.1 single?

Yes sir. Problem solved. I'm around 150lbs soaking wet and the 1.1 is definitely a better fit for me.

Just ordered a 1.1 dbl in BLACK. If it doesn't hang better than the 1.7 dbl, it'll be for sale pretty quick...

I'd go with the 1.1 single. Unless your going to use a pad that is.

Do you suggest that because of my weight?

Any other differences? 1.0 DL vs 1.1 single?

I was deciding between the 1.1 double and the 1.7 single (similar situation, just a little heavier). One reason I went with the 1.1 double was after reading a lot of comments that skeeters can bite your bottom parts through single layer.

I assume the 1.0 DL will support more weight than than a 1.1 single. Which may actually be a comfort disadvantage if you don't need the strength for your weight, at least as far as the leg ridge pressure thing. So it would seem anyway. Or, of course, if you need the dl for a pad or mosquitoes.
