Funny, I just made this same change.

I just changed to a mule tape suspension where I clip a carabiner to a marlin-spike in the mule tape. Not exactly no knots, but it is easy enough for me.

I've been eyeing a webbing/cinch buckle suspension like what pgibson suggested for a while, though. That looks good and easy.

i looked at some of the webbing and cinch buckles. I think that is my new direction.
