Well, I will start off saying that I should have posted this earlier but haven't had the chance to do so... My first official hang was in October for a quick overnighter at Afton State Park. I used my Eno Double w/ whoopies, MacCat deluxe sil, DIY Walmart sleeping bag UQ, Marmot ultralight 40 degree 650 down bag. It was a big success! I did wake up a few times to fiddle with the bag and such but I will chalk it up to just getting use to sleeping in a hammock. Temp went to low 40's at night and everything kept me warm. Sorry I didn't really take a lot of pics but here is one (Doesn't really show the whole setup)

The second trip was to Lake Maria State Park. High wind and ambient temps around 17 degrees night one (probably close to 0 degree wind chill). I used a Eno Double w/ whoopies, MacCat deluxe sil, RAB Quantum 600 800+ down 10 degree bag, DIY winter UQ 800+ down (thread/ pics yet to come!). Everything worked great. However, a few wind gusts blew through between my hammock and UQ which made my back cold for a little bit. I don't have any doors for my tarp which might be next on my list of things to make...Other than that it went good for night one. I again didn't take many pics of the whole setup. I will definitely do that for my next trips.

Night 2
Temps were around 18 at 10 pm and gradually rose to 31 by 7:30 am...It was suppose to get warmer with no precip....I woke up around 7 AM and realized my tarp had moved in on me. I thought that maybe a stake pulled out or something. I bumped the tarp and it sounded like glass breaking...
(Picture came out really dark)

BAM! Freezing rain hit us in the middle of the night blanketing everything in ice! I always put my pack under the tarp or in a vestibule...that night I did not. It was a little bit of a pain, but I guess it's part of the adventure.
This is what my truck looked like when we got there.

The roads were very sketchy as we left the SP. The radio claimed that there was a 36 pile up and we saw about 10 cars in the ditch, 2 of which had rolled over...All in all it was a great and successful trip! All my gear worked out great and I never got wet or cold. Leave me a comment if there is something I may have left out that you would like to know..
