I think that was the catalyst that kicked off this thread, although it quickly morphed into homemade versions.

It quickly changed to a different topic though. The dimensions on that large look pretty beefy yet it's only rated at 150 lbs? Looks like it's be ideal for a rope/tree hugger system if it was strong enough. Too bad.
I was thinking the same thing. Make that 'biner hold 22kN and you'd be set.

NCP I think what you found is indeed new. The very large figure 9 thread was of a LARGE figure 9 with biner. I see some value in having a small set. The large wasn't worth the weight.

That has a load limit of 50lbs, not 150. Might be worth it to use with a tarp setup, if using a biner on your hammock just clip them together, only need to wrap a tree once.
Hmmm, could you hang your pack from the 'biner?
