    logout timer

Is there a setting somewhere for how long to stay signed in?

I'm signed in right now, but if I let this page sit for a half hour or so and then clicked submit, it would try to log me back in and I lose my post. This just happened again. It gets pretty frustrating as it is common for me to leave a post half written and come back to it hours later.

Am I the only one this is happening to?

Youngmoose has the right answer. Be sure to check the 'Remember Me' option when logging in.

It also won't work if you have cookies disabled in your browser.

It was auto logging me in, so I never saw the box. I checked it now, but I also have my browser setup to clear cookies every time it closes. Maybe I just need to play with my configuration.

Might be your browser acting up. I logged in once like 6 months ago, and haven't needed to log in since.

Some versions of browsers have a setting that clears all the cookies except for sites in your favorites. That may be an option for you.

I think it was that checkbox when you login. I use LastPass and it was auto logging me in, so that box was not getting checked. There is still a timer somewhere. Logging in without checking the "remember me" box, keeps you logged in temporarily. I guess I just expected it to keep me logged in as long as I was still on the site.

Anyway, it's behaving the way I like now, so I'll call this resolved.

A mod can close this thread if they want.
