High visability and ease of use

Just went surfing and found this site.

The guy lines are highly visible and those guy runner cleats look pretty easy to use, anyone have experience with them, good or bad?

Also I just saw a suggestion on a site for winter or sandy soil pitching. If you use the v type stakes, in the snow or sand make a trench as long as your stake is high then put your guy around the stake center and lay it on its side in the trench, you may have to make the trench in a T so that somet of the guy line can go straight down with it the V in the stake should hold it. I never saw this before I'll have to try it the next time I go out, very interesting. Of course I'm from the northern rocky soil area but I will definately try it in the snow just hope I don't have to end up having to chisel through the ice to get my stake back,lol.

I use a similiar product on my sit on top kayak that I go crabbin' in. They work all right when you have the line jammed into them tightly. It's real easy to dislodge it however. I'd rather trust a knot or a cord lock personally

TeeDee's Bridge Hammock article listed those in his materials list. They look very promising. I wonder how different they are from the micro-tensioners sold at BPL?

Look to be the same thing. I do like the fact they come in glow in the dark, but only saw that option available in the UK!

I just noticed the glow-in-the-dark items. That is cool. I hope they will ship to the US because I would like to have some of those. I bet they would help to keep you from tripping over the guy lines at night.

I have both. They are exactly the same thing.

I'm pretty sure that BPL buys from the UK company and rename on their web site so that you buy from them.

Things may have changed, but when I was looking to buy, they didn't sell directly from their web site. Seems like they sell to Sea Dog who then sell to Fisheries Supply who you can then buy from. But Fisheries Supply only sells the black. Fisheries supply is the only US company I could find that sells them.

I wonder if a group buy scenario might be feasible if we could get someone in the based in the UK to buy them and then reship them to the members in the US. I REALLY like the glow in the dark tensioners.

I wish I had known about these things a few days ago. My brother left for London, England on Monday for work. I could have had him pick up some and bring them back.
