Short notice AZ hang

I'll probably try to be at the trail head by noon on Friday. Can anyone else make it that early. I dont mind hiking in by myself but I dont want to solo camp Friday night. Who else is going Friday?

sorry, i wont be able to make the Jan 8th date, my gf was in surgery and will still be recovering at that time.

My wife kindly reminded me it's my sons birthday on Saturday. I have this week to make plans, so I am hoping to make this a birthday hike. We'll see if the idea sticks. My son loves hiking with me so it could be a win-win. If so, I think it would be great to come early on Friday (it is early out at school).

Worse case is that I won't be able to go at all. I'll keep you posted as negotiations proceed.

I hear ya, I got reminded yesterday that I am supposed to help the scouts with their Christmas tree pick up fund raiser Saturday. I'm trying to delegate that to someone else so I can make this trip. Hiking west fork in the winter has been on my to-do list.

...In any case I'll probably still come. If I cant get rid of my Saturday morning responsibilities then I will head up early Friday and spend most of that day in the canyon. Spend the night and hike out at first light.

I really want to meet some fellow AZ hangers, but I don't think I'm setup for hammocking in the winter. I don't have any quilts yet. I still use a pad and sleeping bag, so I usually sleep on the ground if it gets too cold.

I'm making a quilt soon, but I haven't even ordered the fabric yet. I doubt I can make one in the next week

I'm heading to the PCT in April, but I could make a hang in March if there is another in AZ.

Sorry guys. I was looking forward to this, but today's snow storm has me convinced I will freeze :P

Just watch the forums. This was kinda a last minute notice for anyone that wants to go. I'm sure a more official AZ hang will come up again soon.

This weekend won't work for me, as my family obligations prohibit even an S24O. My wife has given me the "all clear" for Jan 14-15, so I may have to set up another quickie trip.

Well I couldn't go to the last one because a guy crashed into my truck and I finaly got the cash payout from the insurance co. If I find a new truck this thurs or Friday count on me being there. Can't wait to see if my new crows nest prevents CBS.
