    Mule Tape!

For Sale: USED 1850lb Bull-Line brand pulling tape by AD Technologies -- Commonly referred to as "Mule Tape". This is Polyester pulling tape rated at 1850lbs breaking strength (Safe working load is typically 1/4th to 1/5th the breaking strength.) It's white, 5/8" wide, and slippery. 10' weighs approximately 1.5 ounces. (.15 ounces/ft) Makes great hammock suspension, Is easily sewn, and takes knots well. Made from low-stretch polyester.

Price: $5 per 100' Plus Shipping. Buy 500', and I'll throw in 100' for free.

Shipping: USPS Priority mail, Continental US only.
    Small Flat-Rate Box (100' capacity) $5
    Medium Flat-Rate Box (600' capacity) $11

All shipments will include random-length pieces 20' or greater in length. The detangling process is often difficult, and the tape must be cut at random intervals.

Mule tape makes great suspension, and a full box of mule tape is a cheap way for a scout troop to make hammocks for everybody. It also has a number of uses: It's better than rope for tying down to a truck. Holds knots well, and releases knots easily. Can be dyed with fabric dyes, (but don't get as bright as the dye intends) http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ight=mule+tape

Be sure to wash your mule tape: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ight=mule+tape

Yes, I have a pair from AGG but I'm looking for some larger widths if possible. Had some slippage issues with 1/8 amsteel continuous loop so just checking out to see if a wider version would have a different result. I will see if I can snag some on ebay. Thanks

I actually bought 2 hanks from John when he was selling it, but I'm not sure he's been active lately.

I have already gone the ebay route and picked up 500' of some 5/8" pull tape. Not sure what I will do with that much as of yet but I can foresee having various options of length and not needing to worry about wear and such.

In my search I found this link if for larger amounts:

    I couldn't quite justify buying a roll. :P ~Cnugget

I'd be in to buy a portion of a spool. The 1/2" 5000' spool is $145 shipped.. Split 5 ways $29 a head + $11 (Med flat rate box) for shipping= would bring the total to $40 for 1000' would be 4 cents a foot.

Of course that assumes 1000' of mule tape will fit in a med size flat rate box.
