I wouldn't like it, but hey, it might be worth a shot for you.

Along the lines of that, yet.

This is true. However even if that worked great I might try to make my idea just for the heck of it.

Definitely a plus on the tinker factor. I like to tinker, too.

I tried a sock model just to see how it would work...even after I saw it wouldn't work like I had planned, I still tinkered with it for another couple hours just to see what I could come up with. Then the next day I made a working model.

Search thru the gallery here...slowhike made something similar to what you're talking about. I think his was a hooded wearable quilt, but I don't think it had arms. Might give you some ideas.

There is a company that makes a hunting one. You step into it zip it up and put your arms in the long sleeves. You can sit on your stand and still be able to hold a rifle. Something like this but heavy duty. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...uctId=10919767

Yes, good find. A modified version of that in down. Add the opportunity for a hood in some fashion.

This might be close to what you were thinking of: Nunatak Raku

It's enclosed, like a sleeping bag, but the foot opens up so you can slide it up your legs and walk around in it.
