    Hello Folks

I finally decided to introduce myself after spending time on the site. I try to take a couple of trips per year and am in process of moving the hammock from an "extra" in tent camping to my main and only shelter. I own a ENO Double + slap straps and enjoy it. I would like to upgrade suspension but I have successfully reached SSO (Suspension Sensory Overload) from reading all of the innovative ideas out there.

Can anyone comment on how well the products from strap works will jive with whoopie sling or rings or buckle? I've poured plenty of cash into gear lately and I'd like to aquire a sweet rig on a budget...

Welcome to the site. Even though you've reached a sensory overload, aren't these a great bunch of folk that are willing to share good ideas?

Regarding suspension, I like the keep it simple methods. When I'm hiking and get to a campsite late, I want to be able to set everything up as easy as possible. For me the whoopie slings work the best. The tree hugger straps go around the tree and the whoopie slings go over a simple little stick. (Where I've been camping there is never a shortage of little stick that make suitable toggles.) Set the hammock to a loose hang with the foot end a little higher than the head and you're set. Just get in the hammock and watch the others that are still setting up their tents.

I've bought from Strap Works and they sell quality goods. Some of the cottages here sell straps as well (hint hint).

I put a set of SMC descender rings (0.4oz each) on all my hammocks. I like the versatility they afford.

In tight quarters I just use a Garda hitch to my tree straps.

A little wider and I use a short length of Spyder line 3.8mm. (Marlin Spike and Garda hitches)

Big space - Whoopies. (Larks head and Marlin Spike hitch)
