I bet as a group hammockers and campers can just buy American made bags and not have to worry about this. I for one am committed.

    Just curious Jeff.....

Do you favor a bag or a UQ most of the time?

I'm almost always in a quilt. Sometimes I'm in a bag if I'm outfitting the 4 of us in winter.

I think Exxel is a manufacturer that makes bags under different brand names. I'm pretty sure they make a lot of the bags that are in Wal-Mart.

I don't think that it really affects us here or other backpacking minded people, as we are more apt to support the cottage industry any way, and or the bags we do buy are of higher caliber (which are generally made in the US to begin with) then what EXXEL makes and therefore is of no concern to us anyway.

I know that all of my sleeping items are made here in the US by either cottage or very small companies in the US.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

Some Googling says they make 'American Trails, Suisse Sport, MasterSportsman, X20, as well as branded Disney and Hello Kitty camping products.'

Here is a video interview with the Exxel founder.
