Let me know if you'd like to borrow some stuff or need a trail partner. I am either in the Adirondacks or on the Finger Lakes trail every month.

I may take you up on that.. Most of my freinds and I car camp, and as a result most of my gear isnt back packing freindly, nor light. My goal is to have a complete set up by spring, or early summer at the latest.. Were abouts in the ADK do you go? Every year a bunch of us go for a week to the moose river area (car camping) I would like to take a few more trips up this year, try a couple 2 or 3 day hikes. Lots of beautifull country up that way, you cant truley get to see it all if you have to hike back to base camp everynight..
I go all over. There are a few spots I revisit quite often, mostly just to explore the area. The 5 ponds wilderness and the Black River wild forest are two favorites. I will be up there next week for 3 days. (Have to be home for new years eve or the wife will kill me).
Welcome! Elmira NY checking in...about six hammockers in my area. We do lots on the Finger Lakes trails and the Dacks.

welcome to the madness from the south
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
I'd probably be up for something in the Finger Lakes, although I'm not there my whole family is. I know a particular spot on the Finger Lakes trail that would be GREAT for a hammock hang although it's a fairly tough hike, imo... less than an hour each way IIRC but a lot of steep climbing. It's nearby Camp Cutler boy scout camp in South Bristol if that means anything to y'all.
