I just called Rifle River and checked on the details and to give them a heads up. They said to contact them when the dates get closer and they will make sure sites are plowed and available. The upper modern campsites are the ones that are open for winter. We will have to purchase the standard $21 a site with the 2 tents to a site. I let them know we will be doing hammocks and they didn't have a problem with it. She mentioned it is free fishing weekend, so for those that are inclined....

what do you mean free fishing weekend? like you don't need a license to fish? so we just bring a pole and some lures or is she a lonely bag that just caught wind a bunch of loons are coming up to sleep in hammocks in the dead of winter and she's going fishing?

So this winter hang has me re-thinking my winter setup. BA Insul Air Core and Marmot Trestles 15 might not be enough. Maybe I'll have to DIY an UQ out of some stuff or make an SPE but I should be there.

Got the approval from the Boss last night...

I'm in for sure unless all ^&% breaks loose... Lets set an itinerary for the weekend, I've never been to Rifle so not sure what there is to do besides sit around and drink all day... OH BOY!!! Now that could be interesting... NOT...

My buddy John is out of state for a while... something about a warrant...

Just kidding, he got a real job down south for a few months so I will be the only Jacksonite as far as I know. Most of my other friends think I nuts camping in winter... What do they know anyways...

Wildcrafter if ya wanna ride up together that might work if our schdules work, split gas, my truck, your ride, doesn't really much matter...

Looking forward to seeing all you Yahoos and some new ones too...

OH... If anyone else wants to catch up for a ride together we can see what we can work out...
