    Pertex full down UQ.

I made this UQ last week from Olive Pertex.

I tried to loosely base the design on the Winter Incubator from Hammock gear. The pertex came in 1.6 m wide on the roll. Its 190 cm by 140 cm with a differential cut. Baffles are 3" high made from nanoseeum. There are 14 baffles of which 12 are 100mm/ 4" wide on the inside and 116mm/4.16" on the outside. I filled it with 17 oz of 850 fill power hungarian goose down.
Channels run all round and take 5mm shock cord. Darts run 8" inside and 6" outside. Total weight is 850g.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out, this pertex feels so soft and packs well. Its a bit lighter and softer than other pertex 4's Ive seen. It should keep me warm through our present Arctic weather.

If I made it again, I'd make the darts run longer like the Incubator but it sits well on my hammock as it is.

Many, many thanks go to HF and all on HF who posted info about UQ's-your a top crowd.

Wow! Great looking UQ. With all that loft and 850+ that will surely keep you nice and warm. Congrats on a great project.

Well done! She looks warm even laying in the snow. You must be quite chuffed with that.

    Hi Bomber. Thanks.

I got this down from a 850 fill power pillow as it worked out far cheaper than buying from germany. It was from a John Lewis pillow £175 for I managed to get 30oz for £60 because it had been marked in transit!

Looks very good! Congratulations on a successful project. It probably took a lot of time, but it saved a lot of cash, and the satisfaction of a job well done is incalculable.

Hope you celebrated with your favorite beverage
