Thumbs up Hello from downeast Maine!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forums. Originally from New Jersey, I am a Wildlife Biology student enrolled at the University of Maine (senior). Aspiring to be a conservationist or National Park Ranger. I am currently living in down east Maine, about 45 minutes from the Canadian border along the coast where trails are all around me and hence plenty backpacking. Been chipping away at my gear weight and trying to have a UL set up. Have been thinking about using a hammock for those shorter 1 - 2 night trips where I know the weather is going to be nice. At least for the beginning. I have a feeling hammocking is going to be a lot like converting to alcohol stoves, addicting! I aim to expand my knowledge and learn a lot from you guys/girls. Pleased to meet yas!

Welcome to HF! Once you spend a few nights in a hammock you will never want to go to the ground again.

    Hello and Welcome!

Great thing 'bout Maine is that you can't throw a rock without hitting trees, water or a Porcupine.
