    Biners, s-biners?

Does anyone use biners or s-biners to help with tarp tie down? If so can you let me know what rating I should get ex: 10 pd, 25pd.

    Thanks,

I used the size 1 for a while in the S binner but then changed to our micro carabiner, they are much stronger---like 90 pounds or better, about the same weight and come in multiple colors. I like the S well enough but when it came down to it the second gate only added an second point of possible failure versus a stronger single gate.

No problem Brian, I never max tested the 1S's but they will hold a good bit more than the advertised 10 pounds.

I can't speak for folks that are not me, but I think that they all are coming form one or two sorces that all get them from the same factory, at least they look very similar. I have load tested mine, one will not hold me without bending, the gate opens up so that it will never function properly again. 2 will Hold me and not show any ill effects, I weigh about 175ish.

I agree with Paul, but have to say, I find the S-biners quite a bit easier to handle and use. Part of that is due to the weaker spring, but there are some ergonomics in play, too.
