    Great report Grizz ...

I have been looking for options to add to my Crowsnest UQ to take my temps down 10 to 20 degrees. I was thinking of adding a pad in between the BB double layer, an emergency blanket, and possibly a wool blanket on the bottom of the hammock to insulate my back. Then adding another layer on top of my TQ to reach temps of 10 degrees. Your report inspires me to continue my quest of sleeping out in the Michigan cold!

    Excellent trip report!

What more could one ask for? Hammock camping, campfire cooking, campfire cameraderie, and crisp weather? Makes me wish that there was some place nearby (<2 hours) where I could indulge.

    Thanks again Griz.

thanks everyone, great to know there's appreciation for the small scale out and backs, especially when done with family.

I did some BSA adult leadership training a while back (Woodbadge, for those of you in the BSA know), and my mentor through the course made it a point to get out and sleep outside at least once a month. The training and the mentor were near Ely, MN so that once a month outing takes on special meaning. Anyway, that's a great principle to aspire to, and I've been trying.

Has anyone here ever run into an issue hammocking there? I'm scheduled to go camping out at Forest Glenn on the 8th of January and I haven't made up my mind if I'm tent camping or hammocking yet.

A gem of a report, Grizz -- thanks!! I'll bet even some of your business trip reports garner a few chuckles.

Thanks Grizz for sharing your quality time with the boys. Seeing the layered insulation in a photo is worth a thousand words. Thanks so much for that.
