New Years Eve Back Yard Hang Lower Arrow Lake

Well I got home from work and thought OK . . .

    I've thought of it all day . . .

    LETS HANG

It is now -9C or 15F

It is suppose to go down to -11C or 11F
That is kinda cool actually, I always knew that -40C was the same as -40F
    But tonight I learned somthing . . .

My NX150 is going to be hung with Z-liners and Home made pocket pads
which will = about 3.5-4" of under insul.
I will use my (man I thought it was rated for colder than that)
Outbound Deluxe Barrel Sleeping Bag with 3 lbs of Quadratherm Hollow fiber,
    rated -5C or 23F . . . brrrrr . . .
and have my light down, doubled over house quilt as a TQ over the bag.
If need be I could use my down bag inside the synth bag . . .

    My kids are looking out the window . . . wondering . . .
My wife is walking around now and again . . . laughing . . .

    And . . . I . . . am about to hang the hammock,
got the noisy blue tarps up . . . and I am just in to type this . . .

OK . . . and to warm my toes.
Here is the tarp set up so far . . .

    I guess I am commited . . . I've posted

    Learning Curve

I have set up this unit a number of times . . .
    but not under these conditions.
Also, as I was fiddling with it all and my new pack,
I had the DIY pads and Z-Liner in seperate stuff sacks
so setup was long and drawn out.

    Learned system:
    1. Do not remove the foot end of the Z-Liner from the hammock,
and have it instaled before trip.

That is good for now . . .

My hang is from the porch to the closest tree, about 50'
That is why the spreader bars are looking so weirdly tight.

In the photos you can see the puffyness of my DIY pads with the Z-Liner counter parts.

It is only 9 ish so will go let my wife snicker a little more . . .
and even let her call me a weirdo . . .
Then proceed to my first sub freeze trial hang . . .

    TTFN.

Here you can somewhat see the puff inside.

Now that's a tarp, (-; . Sounds like you got lots of insulation happening. Good luck tonight. Before you know it you'll wake up ,it will be 8am and your nose will be cold.
