happy new year from melbourne, au...

pleased to be here; this forum seems like one of the best hammocking resources online!

i'm a 40yo male (185cm/86kg (6'1"/190lbs)), a photographer and backyard gardener. i got into camping through hiking and most recently bike touring which prompted me to look into lighter alternatives than our tent setup (that and my lower back pain)...
after some research i got the survivor+scout+snakeskins xmas deal from hennessyhammock.com + the supershelter.

after consulting hf, i plan to use this kit w/ my lightweight sleeping bag, the macpac escapade 350 (rated 5-11C (40-50F)) for three- season camping here in au, victoria.
    cheers,
    k

Welcome mate, that looks like a nice setup you got there.

Do you think you will try out an underquilt/topquilt setup eventually?

thanks! yeah, it's not so nice anymore, i already managed to damage the tarp on my first hang while tightening it - who knew i'm that strong?

it wasn't a show-stopper tho & i'm typing this from the air! (my first hang is a night hang!!!!)

i am certainly getting the overcover for the supershelter. it was foolish not getting it straight away... after that, who knows?

my underquilt pick at the moment would be the Mt Washington 3 Convertible i like the temp rating and the adaptability, but that price kinda makes me push the limits of the hhss a bit more :-)

i don't have any idea for a topquilt - i plan on using my sleeping bag and discover my as yet unknown needs as i go.

    where are you based btw?
