Dr. Evil: "You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! "
Well I couldn't get any sharks, or ill tempered sea bass, so I opted for a sewing machine with a laser beam. I finally got around to putting this on today. I just took off the guard over the "up and down thingy" and put a wider piece on there and the laser attaches with a built in magnet. I just line it up with the needle using a square and off we go.
For whatever reason I often have a hard time visually "projecting" a straight line from the needle to ... where ever, mostly when I leave the edge of the fabric and need to sew on a 45 or something, like when doing a box stitch on webbing etc. The added benefit is it keeps you from looking a the needle so much, which really isn't going anywhere so it doesn't help to look at it. I'll probably put one on my other machine too as I am quite happy with it.
