Thanks to Mr. Google and his maps, I don't think about it much.

I go by way of Fort Smith, (in fact we'll probably get there around midnight and get a hotel).

I head north on 45 to Dallas, continue on 75 to 69 in Oklahoma then east on 45 and North at Clarksville on 21. Then it's 43 to 74, a very scenic drive too, to Kyle's Landing road just past Mt Sherman. Take a left and it's down hill all the way.

Ok so the scenic backroad route vs the interstate route, that is what I was trying to figure out. Looks like its only 8hrs for me so definitely 1 shot (granted I 1shot the "18hrs" to Charlotte, NC too). I'm definitive now too, the other thing that might have interfered is now definitely not that weekend.

I hope to be there sometime on the 10th. I know that's a large window...but I want to get an early start on this trip!
Will someone be able to provide a last-minute weather report for the area so we'll have an idea of what to expect?

My condolences to you and your family, Redhawk. Unfortunately, it is not looking good for me making it either. Fortunately, it is just work related. Looks like I may be getting the job I have been after for a couple of months.
