The Sil I just scored today at WalMart also has a little fraying on the selvedge. But just inside of that you can clearly see that the fabric looks different due to the silicon impregnation. The impregnation did not completely reach the edge of the selvedge. On the cut edge of the fabric it definitely does not fray. What I found is also very noticibly ripstop. It's hard to tell in your picture if yours is ripstop.

What I found at Wally World yesterday and today is the same, it frays on the edges running the length of the fabric (whatever that's called), but doesn't fray on the cut edge. But for a buck a yard, who can argue?

It's ripstop, hard to take picks with any kind of light inside without getting a shine.

Backlighting works great to show the grids.

I gotta go check out some Walmarts while I'm traveling; sounds like there is a run on this stuff all the sudden!

Found some ripstop sil at a Walmart for the first time. 12 yards. Now I can experiment with a tarp for my bridge.

Found about 27 yards of misc ripstop (3 colors) at a Walmart in Denver! Don't really need it, but I couldn't resist. I was giggling to myself all the way to the checkout.

What colors did you get? Is it 1.9 or what? Inquiring minds want to know.

One of them is kind of an ivory color with little bitty grids. It is very light, but I don't know what it is yet. The middle weight which I believe to be 1.9 is a slate grey. The final one is a burnt sierra and VERY heavy. It is definitely DWR coated. I've got to get the matches out and find out what kind of material they are, but like I said I just couldn't resist; cleaned em out!
