    Is 1.1oz heavy enough?

i will be making my own gathered end hammock. i am 260 lbs so i will be using two layers for the hammock. My question is will 1.1 oz ripstop nylon be heavy enough to support me?

It should hold, but you may get a little stretch & shoulder squeeze. I would look at a 1.9/1.1 double layer for the best comfort if I were you. YMMV
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.

I am 220lbs and have a single 1.1. My plan is to make a double-layer 1.1, or single 1.7... The single 1.1 works, but it stretches a bit too much.

i am 300# and use 1.1DL with some stretch but don't mind it. the 1.9/1.1DL suggested above might just be the ticket.

    I have a 1.9 without stretch and I used to weigh 240.
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.
