Some buddies and I have a trip planned to Cohutta at the end of April. Looking forward to your trip report and some pics. Have you done Jacks river trail before? The reasonI ask is because I was thinking of getting some sport water sandals or shoes to hike that portion in. Any thoughts?

    Smile Good Luck

Hope you guys have a good safe trip. I do recomend some sandles on any trip with River, Ga, winter, or fall in the title. Also some quickdrying zipoff pant/shots are always nice to . I would also say this time of year to camp a little higher than riverbed. The cold damp air that settles into those vallys will really suck the life out of yah. Cant wait for a trip report happy trails. Ps. I beleave in may a group on theses forums will be up there in cohuttas somewhere (NW GA Hang)

the news for cohutta is not good. jacks rive is up and conasauga, i would not mind but not the right time of the year to take a chance." scout master in me". we would be crossing the creeks about 40 times give or take. Capt-kevlar i just did conasauga about a month ago. we crossed that about 35 times. I never got my feet wet, but i have good boots. all the kids did, easy trail. jacks river about the same but a little harder. you will get wet on this one. be ready for that. will post new trip for tomorrow and trip report.
