    Joshua Tree Romp!!!

    Hi Ya'll

Decided to do a last minute 2 night trip to Joshua Tree this weekend with the lil' lady! Not too sure about the hanging situation there. From my last visit to this area...not much of the essentials available for a quality hang (mainly the lack of trees). So planning to ground dwell this trip. Gonna bring a simple hammock rig to see if hanging is possible. Will provide photos if possibility of a hang.

    Thanks,
    WhoIsMikeTruong

P.S. Any suggestions of sites to do and activities to see will be appreciated!!!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR HANGING EVERYONE!!!!!

hey well in Jtree i find it fun to just wander on out into the rock piles and watch the rock climbers(if im not climbing myself) If you have a car that you could hook one end of the hammock to you should be able to find a "natural anchor" in any of the campsites. I prefer to camp hidden valley lots of climbers there and not too deep in park.

Someone else just visited JT and hung from climbing nuts and some webbing around a rock horn. If you think in those terms it might open up more possibilities. Doesn't take much in the way of gear , a few nuts, a few slings, a few carabiners. Knowing how to place them isn't hard either. Good luck camping out.
