Sounds like 15ft is the way to go. For those that asked, I was referring to the length of webbing for just the tree huggers. I have a stock Hennessey Expedition, I was going to tie the rings onto the stock line and use that to connect with my 15ft webbing.

You might want to go with about 8' then. We didn't understand that you were going to continue to use your stock line as well. 15 will be overkill for most days.

Most people put the rings pretty close to the hammock and use a long strap of webbing to get to and around the tree. If the rings are a long way from the hammock you will have a hard time if the trees are closer together.

I have a set of the HH 9' straps, ad have not had any problems yet.

I have hung mostly in the central washington cascades. I use 15' straps at each end for the entire suspension and wouldn't go any shorter.

15' has been perfect, only a few times have I needed to relocate due to trees being too big

I picked up a set of the 9' straps from Hennessey. I have yet to encounter something that I cannot deal with. IF I do, I will daisy chain with the 6ft straps I also have.

You ever come down into the country I hang about in, Redwoods, and you'll be switching from 15 to 20 feet like I have. I don't use them to their full length often, but there has been times where that was the only option open to me.
