for what it's worth, on my hh napkin with major strech issue, I kinda made a catenary seam, it did help somewhat, I only did about an inch curve (max width) I think if you do a more pronounced curved seam it would help somewhat!

I thought the same thing and tried to do exactly what you described...fail.
The grid helps with the tautness.

Course, a person of authority telling me to not do something only serves to up my motivation to do it. Gotta be me, ya know?

Maybe it won't be my first project back in the injector seat, but I might save it for a rainy day. They say nothing is impossible, so......
One other thought about sewing a bias ridge seam - sewing a bias seam is the absolute pits. It is very difficult (unless you are a total expert and know ALL of the tricks) to sew anything near straight or anywhere near where you wanted to sew. When you sew on the bias, that blasted fabric has a mind of its own and stretches and moves about foiling any attempt to sew the seam where you want it. The fabric puckers and creases and the end result is always messy.

So Cannibal - if you do decide to sew the bias ridge seam on the HH napkin, let us know how you manage to sew it.

By the by, did you hear about the 2 Cannibals eating a clown?

One Cannibal turned to the other and asked: Does this taste funny to you?

OK gram weenies, avert your eyes!

Thoughts on glueing the seam/bias tape under the ridge area first, then sew?

If I understand correctly, issue 1 is the material will pucker as you try to sew it, issue 2 comes when you try to pitch the sucker (material on the bias pitches funny?)
