    Albright Knot tarp tensioner?

Here is a lovely little knot that someone else posted about while describing their UQ suspension: The Albright Knot. Seems perfect for tying a piece of shock cord into a guy-line. It holds very nicely with 1/8 shock cord and 1.75mm lash-it with only five wraps.

Yes, the thicker line is the one that starts with the bend. With the 1/8th shock cord and 1.75 lashit the knot really cinches down nice and looks really clean when finished.

I not only use the Albright for my UQ suspension but also to attach my fly fishing line to the backing line.

Both applications benefit from the fact that this knot is compact and can slide through the guides on my flyrod, or in the case of UQ suspension, my quilt can slide along the suspension making adjustment easy from the hammock.

It was actually a post of yours that informed me of the existence of this knot

It looks like it would be fairly easy to pull the free end back through the loop to untie the knot.

One of the problems I always have with knots in shock cord, is that after loading, the portion of the shock cord inside the knot pulls out as much as the elastic will extend and the knot is impossible to untie.

So does this knot work as well joining 2 sections of shock cord??

The only knot joining 2 sections of shock cord that I have ever been able to untie is the Zeppelin Bend.
