    Fabric Question

I am looking to buy fabric to make my first DIY hammock. I was thinking about making a double layer as I weight 290 right now. As I look at the different choices I decided I am clueless and better ask questions of those in the know

    My questions are..

If I go ripstop nylon ....What kind of ripstop fabric should I look for, coated, uncoated ect ?? (Something like what is used in a BlackBird)

I also like the feel of the Parchachute nylon like that is used in a ENO DN. What kind of fabric should I look for as I have not seen any listed as parachute nylon or maybe I am not looking in the right place.

    Your assistance is appreciated.

No expert by any means but I find my dl 1.9 uncoa ripstop nylon from joann to be very comfortable...took a little getting used to (I do like the parachute material) but it is much warmer than my eno and holds my weight (which isnt much 150) better...I feel much more supported
When life gets you down......make an underquilt!

You definately want an uncoated - breathable fabric. Backwoodsdaydreamer sells a 1.5 oz ripstop in foliage grey that would be great for a very strong double layer. The fabric is priced nice at $3.25 yd. You can also buy your netting straps etc... from there. I have been very please with other fabric purchases I made there.
