    Blackbird adjustable webbing suspension

I know warbonnet.com shows using a biner in the sewn loop and clipping that to the webbing. But, in the interest of saving some weight, is the webbing strong enough to just run the tag end through the sewn loop and then through the buckle for adjustments?

Yes, I understand it's not quite as fast as a setup due to having to always put it in the buckle. Just wondering if the webbing/loop is strong enough to be used in this manner and what if any issues I should be concerned with.

    Thanks!

Yes. It's mainly a convenience/speed set-up with the biner or a Dutch Clip but the webbing loop will hold with no issue.

    Short answer: yes.

It's a good practice to inspect your suspension frequently for wear, and replace as needed. Nothing is forever.

I use the magical Dutch Clips on mine. Fast setup and the Dutch Clips weigh next to nothing.

You are absolutely right ... however, Dutch Clips add a whole lot of convenience for very little weight.

When considering these things, always imagine the worst case scenario ... it's raining like a tropical monsoon and the wind is blowing gale force ... do you want to be dismantling your suspension just to hang your hammock? Hint: there's no right or wrong answer to this - just a question.

If weight is an issue wouldn't Whoopie slings be a better choice than webbing?
