Free, Full-Sized USGS 7.5 Series Topo Maps

I just stumbled on this website today and was amazed to find they offer free, full-sized USGS topo maps. Other services online often let you navigate small sections and then you have to buy the bigger maps. I've already downloaded a few and printed one. Great resolution too.

    http://usgs-catalog4.srv.mst.edu/sto...mapping_ap.jsp

The interface is a bit clunky, but it works.

    1. Search for a location (zip code, address, topo name)
    2. Click on the Google map to add a marker
    3. Click on the marker to see maps available to download

    Enjoy!

    WoW man . . .

Now if I had a Spot that would report location every 15 minutes

I could do the trail, then at home plot it out on the map . . .

    sweet . . . BOOKMARKED IT

    THANKS, EH!

PS. there are no top.s for my area but the google map will work well enough.

Does anyone have any ideas as to the best way to print these for use? When I downloaded the areas around me the .pdf files were VERY large (22x40).

These are awesome maps with 2010 data and sat imagery with topo map features and I'd like to print them out, but I can't print a document that large and the 8.5x11 size kills all the detail.
