    Finished DIY gathered end...

After spending most of the fall/winter drooling over ordering a new WBBB, I decided to make my daughter a simple gathered end hammock. For a first DIY hammock attempt it worked out to be pretty easy.

It has Amsteel blue Whoopies and is attached to the loft with 300lb eyebolts. Which was good because 3 hours later at her b-day party I found 3 kids swinging in the hammock.

After sitting in it for the first time, she asked for a book and blanket. I think I found another hanger...

Yep, she definitely looks happy. Did you give her Ed Speers book to read? I like the loft as well, pretty cool.

Awww... super adorable and what an awesome parent you are!! She'll remember that always. The look on her face is priceless and speaks volumes!

I applaud the color choice as well! Fantastic!

She is more into mystery books then Speers. She also loves camping and canoe trips. I get asked weekly about our next trip to Quetico.

Too bad I don't have a full loft picture. It is a 2 bed L loft, with a reading/sitting area between including a book shelf. It is color matched to the room/bedding and has undercabinet lights below, cup holders, outlets, etc. It is slightly overbuild with 2x8 framing and a pair of 4x4 support posts. But when 10 girls were on it jumping around/screaming at last nights party, it didn't move.

    Future modifications planned:
    - Adding a ridgeline
    - Moving the foot mount point from the ladder to an eyebolt. Once that is done this might also become my gear testing spot or napping place.

Minnesota's own Prince would be happy in that room in that hammock.

Haha She's so happy in her hammock. I guess you're going to have to get rid of those bunk beds now. Great job!
