I find if I trim the hedges back on either side it makes it look bigger. In the end I think I'll just have to make up for it by buying a big sportscar.

Shug maaaan you could do a whole video series just explaining the stories behind your man cave decorations. It was a groove!
There is a story or explanation to all of it. Folks ask about the mannequin....
Her name is Grace ...after Grace Jones ... and I put unitards on her to paint for costumes for my wife's aerialists. These were a "muscle" theme for a medical conference.
    That is just one story.........
Kelsey on the left ...she plays fiddle with me a lot on music I use for my videos. My wife Meg on the right. My rock.

I used to do R/C and U-Control in the early 90s. took a lot of time and Meg wanted me home more since we had a baby.
So I bought a mandolin 'cause I could learn that at home.
May do R/C again someday down the road when I am older.

Always inspired and challenged by shug, and after seeing more pods at the recent MN Frozen Butt Hang, decided to try a peapod last night.

I pulled out my 1985 Marmot Gortex down sleeping bag. My first impression was how heavy it felt compared to two quilts. I selected my WB Traveler hammock so as to avoid the bug netting. I then discovered that the bag is designed with an 14" foot box, so the zipper doesn't go all the way to the end. this would leave a huge lump of bag hanging off the foot end of the hammock- yuk.

So I resorted to my tested JRB MW4 UQ and High Sierra Sniveler TQ, and supplemental IX Baby Orca UQ- toasty warm! I was disappointed it only got to -10F.

The other thing I noticed about the Traveler is that it seems shorter and narrower, and the foot-box seems smaller. I found my feet hanging over the end. Next try, I will hang the foot end even higher to push me toward the head end.

I see that it was -31 where we had the MN FBH 2 weeks ago!!

Shug, ARE YOU THAWED OUT YET?!
(If you freeze up solid, you wife may put you on the smoker and smother your butt with some of that hot rib sauce. )

That is the thing about bag to pod conversions- some bags just will not work very well with that approach. Some months ago I also tried to use my mummy bags just for fun, but the lack of full around the foot zippers greatly interfered. I have a semi-rect bag that zips wide open, but it is not big enough.

Glad to hear of you going to -10 with the MW4. I have that hanging right now on my JRB BMBH. It is doing a great job all by itself of keeping me toasty at the frigid temps around here- plus 20-30!

Was you IX inside or outside of your MW4? Have you ever tried your MW4 with a space blanket?
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
