    Thumbs up

Dutch you're da man ... and stand by your product. Makes me proud to know ya.

However my pre-recall's are just fine ... I add the stitch to keep them from falling out of my loop but that's really it. When place on the tree with the return loop coming from behind the tree passing through the clip there's little stress on the clip at all the way I run it and taking the time to snug it in that position has never resulted in a rotating clip to put any force on the retaining hooks.

I have a set of all versions of the clips and biners ... and plan to save them for my future Dutch Hardware Museum, located above the Gorge Rat Livermush and Rhubarb Pie Eatery I plan to retire to!

Which reminds me .... ain't it about time for the Dutchman to invent the next great metal "me gotta have" item?

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

How do we tell the difference between a pre-recall and a recall ?

I bought the set I'm using at the moment from the HF store back in May 2010.

I've got some of the newer one's from JRB but I've not switched them over yet, I've got a line of stitching on my webbing which is really tight against the DC, it seems to be okay so far and I've not had any tumbles yet.

The Hammock store DCs are un affected

If you are unsure then weigh them to tell the difference between pre recall and the recalled , lighter early style....15 grams, fine....12 grams, replace....details here... http://www.jacksrbetter.com/DutchClips.htm

I've broken one. I still hang on dutchclips, In fact I now own two sets, and both work great. If you have older style clips, sew them in and relax.

Updated: Side by side of my new and old style dutch clips.

Just to be clear, I am going to continue to hang using DC's - they are just way too easy a solution. And I'm probably going to be like Hawkeye and hang on to my old ones as well and just order some new ones later on. After all, I still have my first reflectix pad I made for my HH 7 years ago after reading Sgt Rocks excellent reviews and reading Ed's book!

I have 6 sets of the old style Dutch Clips (5 sets are in use and 1 set is for backup). I sewed mine to the webbing loops and so far have not had any problems but I will be checking them.

    Still a great product.
