...in it for pics.
Thanks to you Shug for getting that info out for others to see and possiply
try. I think once you get the peapod tuned in and your fire skills tuned up you will be able to conguer the far north
and spread the gospel of the nette pot ! (I take saunas !)
On the foot end I cinch tight around the hammock and then tie to the end loop of hammock to keep it from shifting towards head end.
The head end I just tie to top loop so the hood acts like a under quilt.
Veiw photos for detail.
It may work, but I have found by cinching the draw string bottom it seals the best and makes a great foot box.
You could , I find a sweater or xtra cloths in stuff sack would do the same thing.
It weighs about 41 oz . It allows me in the deep cold to not need a tarp.
I keep the whole system as one. Only a five minute set up time/take down. No stakes, no guy lines. Easy up , easy down down with mitten hands.
That and breathablite is why I went on the canvas sock of cotton.
I'm not a gram conter, I'll carry extra weight for durablite, usablite and longevity. It also can not fail under stress.

I slept out again last night ...house full of women.......used less insulation in the pod and was as warm as with more insulation!!!! It got down to -16º here. Happy with that as I can reduce weight and bulk.
I may start doing more fires .... or an occasional one. I usually don't as I hike all day and just am too lazy. It does warm one just gathering wood and doing camp chores.
You inspired me to try the pod system and I agree that it is the ultimate for sub0º camping. Thankee Fine Sir!!!!!
All secure in sector seven,
Shug
Working on the video now .... of course.
Whooooo Buddy)))) All Secure in Sector Seven
The dreamwalker does seem neat for this. I have a new synthetic one if any of you know anyone interested. Please let me know. It was just way to snug for me. I never used it, just tried it out in my bedroom once.

Bringing this post back to life from last year. I am for sure going to be modifying my peapod i made. Mine just comes up and over my head and leaves and opening at my head. New inspiration to sew up the head end completely and down the length a little. Remove a foot or so of the zipper so it stops and leaves a breathing hole.
Thanks google search and HF!
I used a surplus "patrol" bag - it's not GI, but whatever, it was only $20.
I cut the end out and stitched in some shockcord. Also stitched a couple of loops in the head end to attach to top.
Obligatory full shot:
Head end with neck cinched:
Loops at head end with shockcord runners:
I place a standard Thermorest inside:
Foot end cinched up (notice white dental floss hand-stitching ):
By the way, mine is a big constricting... that Wiggy bag looks AWESOME! Might have to save up ... lol
I got a big bag to mod into a pod but I still think it will be to short. Cinching the end puts it right above my head and is irritating. Considering scratching it into an uq
Fourdog - what are the dimensions of your reflective pad? Brand? Or doesnt it matter?
Your modified pea pod looks great ! If you can find a xtra wide and long works best. Put a draw string at the foot end.
I use as thick a foam windshield garde for a pickup truck.
There 26" x 60". They give body to the hammock and keep your shoulders
warm.
Looks great !!
