Need cheap quick sleeping bag UQ

I need a temporary UQ solution.

My permanent plan is to cut a 45" wide sleeping bag in half lengthwise, add grosgrain channels and end up with two 45" x 60plus" UQs. The problem is the only bag I can find that wide is a walmart bag that compresses to the size of a small car.

My first hang is in 7 days. Lo temps are vacillating between 28 and 45. But we will call the trip off if under 35.

I have a few standard size rectangle bags. ( I think they are 33" wide or 66" wide if opened up). Is there a way to make a temporary UQ suspension system without cutting the bags.

I have seen other posts dancing around this issue. Any solutions? BTW camp
will be 1/4 mile to 1 mile from car so weight etc is no issue.

I tied the corners of the bag with larks head / cinch knot and looped the other end over my marlin spike. Not pretty but should work. Only down side is carrying two bags is heavy.

Looks like you may have gaps on the ends, but that may be just the photo. I would take some clothes pins or something that would hold the fabric if you need to make some tucks in the ends. Best done by a buddy after you are in the hammock. As insurance, I would take a cheap Wally World blue pad (closed cell) just in case.

There are gaps. I am under strict instructions from the boss to be home and dressed to go out to dinner. So woods time was cut short.

I think I can close the gaps by pulling more of the corner of the bag thru the larkshead.

I also thought I would need a buddy to sew me in (make sure you go to the bathroom before bed), but during my 15 minutes of playing with it I think I will be able to get in and out.

I am taking a blue pad too.
