I KNOW you guys aren't even thinking about leaving the DOs at home!! I don't care if we have to hire Sherpas!

Terry, maybe we can brainstorm. I happen to be a bit of a technical fellow. I like the idea of being able to better manage event info but I'm not a big fan of Meetup.

I'm working on an idea that I'll propose once I have a little more info and can flesh things out a bit. Maybe I can whip up a little proof of concept.

I don't even have a dutch oven! Tim never complains about my camp fare though. I think we need to keep the gumbo for special occasions like the Annual Hang.

If you want to take it on, be my guest..You do know I'm a techtard though right? I know I've mentioned that fact here before. I can barely figure out how to turn on the computer most days.

Just to clear up if anyone is considering attending the FT conference.
I talked to Todd at the Life Enrichment Center where the event is held.

He said there will be no problem hanging any hammock from any of our trees. He also said, as did Janice, there are plenty of trees to hang from.

If anyone is considering going there is a registry on floridatrail.org

As to the date for the hiking trip, I would like to see it happen sooner than later as Florida gets hot & buggy. As to location, anyplace is fine with me, as long as I don't see a road! I am used to doing 30 mile trips in the mountains so, let's get out there!

I have no problem with that - but I'm still flexible, through early April.

Well I've set March 24-27 for the Canaveral National Seashore Island Hang for those who feel like paddling! Planning Thread is up!

Someone be a dear and go link it for this techtard.

For a possible future hang/hike, I would suggest the Citrus trail through the Withlacoochee, not only is it a great hike and can be as challenging as you want it to be, depending on the start and end points, its also home to the Dames cave system. Which is pretty cool for those who haven't experienced Florida caves before.
