I'll be able to help out with the recon trip, but will be busy March 11-12. No problem though. I'm happy to see a few smaller get togethers starting to happen.

I'm out too. I've got events scheduled the 12th, 19th, and 26th. Hope you guys have a blast, though.
Still a moving target here, but would March 25-27 work? Ed is right, no date will work for all, and not each event needs to be the annual rallying of the troops. But, at the same time, it makes sense to stab around maximum participation.
Hedgehogs! Why can't they just share the hedge?

Those dates look good for me, but I won't know until March for sure.
I'm good with either date but I only earn about one kitchen pass per month. I try and spend them wisely but the Canaveral site is a lot closer drive for me. It just comes down to whether I'd rather hike or paddle.
I did Citrus Tract about two years ago with a "native" Floridian from Clermont. She had fond memories of all the cool caves. Since her last visit it seems the closest roads to the caves had been improved or there were new ones. There was a huge amount of trash covering the area (cans/bottles, etc). We were awakened to the sounds of belligerent teenagers around midnight trying to find the cave entrance. That and the fact there's no surface water meant we had to cache some jugs along the FS road. Overall it was an interesting trip but not one I'm really aching to repeat.
Just my two cents.....
Yeah--if we want to do parts of the Withalacoochee forest, the southern parts where there is better water and fewer people are preferable, to me at least. What about another chunk of the ONF? It is large. The FT is a nice run, but I have no idea how the Blue Blazes work to create loops therein. My maps are all really flawed. Any ideas?
