I know it's to late now, but in the future carry a heavy duty Stainless Steel Nalgene or similar bottle. Before bed time, boil some water in it, let it cool a bit, put the lid back on good and tight, pull a thick sock over it and either put it inside your bag at your feet or placed right against the Femoral Artery.
