Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park Jan 22-23 trip report

This is my trip report from last weekend.
    http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=945093

It was a guided trip with Apex Outdoor Gear. Out of 11 people I was the only one in a hammock.

Nice. I like the trail/photo match up! I'll have to get that app for sure! Thanks for sharing!

everytrail.com is pretty cool with how the waypoints match up to your pics.

I'm pretty sure you can get the GPX file from every trail, if not hit me up. I think you have to register to do that but its free. You may not want to follow our track. We didn't stick to the trail in either direction. I'm not sure why, the trails weren't blazed but every intersection had a sign. There are a ton of trails up there, most of them loops. No back country distributed camping though and you have to have a permit to park and camp.

What I love about every trail is how easy it is to use. Upload track log, upload pictures, type a description, the rest is automatic. It inserts the pictures into your track based on the time stamp. I have the every trail app on my phone but haven't tried using it to create a track or follow one. I've created the trips I've posted so far from my Garmin GPS, my old phone battery life wouldn't have lasted with the GPS on. My new phone might, I have to play with it some more. My GPS is rugged and waterproof, my phone is not so I'll likely keep using the GPS.

To answer some of the other questions-
I did sleep good, others complained about waking up often. I woke up once to answer a nature call. My JRB 0 degree quilts kept me plenty warm.

You don't need any special app though they do have one for the phone. The web site will take a GPS track log.

The trail photo match up was automatic.

The default view is the slideshow but in the bottom corner of the map is a graph icon. That is my favorite view for trips that aren't as flat as this one, it shows speed and elevation of the trip on a graph plotted while the point moves on the map.

Great place and report, I have been there quite a few times but usually South of where you were.

    Did you pack or pulk?

If you packed, any guess on the load weights
