Yep, I guess I definately need an underquilt. The Air Core pad isn't cutting it. My whole backside was cold and feet were icicles. Gave it up by 3am this morning.

I guess I need to look into another sleeping bag too, as my Big Agnes Lost Ranger doesn't have any insulation in the bottom because of the sleeve for a pad.

I wouldn't connect the hammock suspension if I were you. When you get in and out of the hammock your tarp will sag and/or become taught with the weight shift. I would just connect to the tree like you would with CRL, but you would have your two ropes on the ends instead of a continous one. Hope that makes sense!

The UQ will serve as the insulation under you which means your BA LR will work as a TQ. Although I could be wrong on that, I have never seen a BA with the pad sleeve in person.

    I'm playing with that now.

I went ahead and ordered a 3 season incubator from HammockGear today.

Ordered a pair of Arrowheads down booties too.

I'm going to try again tonight. I slipped a Walmart blue pad in the sleeve of my bag, in addition to the air core pad to see if that makes any difference.

Night #2. I have a down jacket that I put my feet into the sleeves of and that kept my feet "acceptably" warm. Adding the Walmart Blue pad helped too. Down to 25* last night and I was able to stay in the hammock all night, tho the cold did start creeping in around 5am.

Can't wait to get the Incubator UQ to see how that changes things.

I changed the tarp ridgeline like ChrisH suggested.
