    Warbonnet foot and head box?

Ok I give up on searching through the forums. I read somewhere where it was proposed to add a head box opposite from the footbox. To be honest I didn't figure out what a WBBB was until today. Call me intrigued.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this and what were the results?

I mocked up a scale version out of some scrap nylon. 10 in. long. (I should have been doing this all along!) It appears to work . Looking at the model it makes me real curious what would happen with 4. (Does it ever end? lol!)

    Any feedback is good feedback

I guess having four boxes would be a little more expensive, complicated to build and add too much to the weight of the hammock. I think two would be all you could use so the question becomes which side do you build the head box on, same side as the foot box or the other side? Sounds interesting.

You'll want to read this thread.

A footbox doesn't really do anything on a netless hammock. It was designed to keep the shape of a WBBB's netting from reducing the room at the foot end. But it doesn't add room.

I do find it keeps the top quilt from working over the side as I lay diagonal and my feet would be near the edge without the footbox.

The footbox does shorten one side a bit, raising that side and effectively lowering the edge of the hammock by your feet. My first DIY, I later added a small footbox and it definitely helped keep my TQ/Feet contained.

I think it was Bankheadboy that made a head and foot box hammock, but found you can't get out of it, because the sides end up so much shorter than the rest of the hammock. Net effect: your hammock ends up the shape of a bathtub, with high-sides. I checked his gallery as I thought he had pics that showed his vertical-set side zipper that allowed him entry and escape... I can't find it...
