LOL, I got a funny visual on that one Sandy!

I agree. I'm going to sew another patch of velco on mine too.

    Mad777,

Congrats and good choice on your new SB.

I went through this whole "I'm not hanging at the correct angle and HF members will laugh at me" angst when I first got mine. Keep in mind this is my first hammock, ever. Tried as I might, flatter/less strap angle was and is more comfy. It's good to know that is the general consensus: I was ready for a SB angle intervention.

As far as net suspension, I got fed up with the length of the shock cord, cut it to about a foot and added adjustable in-line dyneema that goes from 12" to 3'. It's kinda like a whoopie that has two fixed eyes on the ends with adjustment in the middle. Hard to explain but it works like a charm since there is little load. All this gets clipped onto the tree biner. Other mods include sewing on more side tabs which i use for UQs. I don't tie out the side cords anymore. I added three captive nacrabiners along the length of the net ridgeline to tie the net up out of the way. I also sewed the double layer mostly closed as that bugged me too. I can still squeeze a pad in if I have too.

As we talked previously, I got a Traveler and just can't get comfy in it and that center ridge is a pain. In my narrow little mind I am convinced it is because it has a whipped end. I am in the process of making it a channel end like the SB if I can figure out how to test before committing to the sewing: don't want to ruin the resale if it doesn't work
