    HH Question

I have a very simple question about my HH Explorer Deluxe Zip. Does it make make a difference which end of the hammock I make my head end? I know with the bottom entrance HH it's pretty obvious which end is the head end, but with the new zip does it matter?

We have had HH zip hammock customers requesting our zipper mods say they lay either direction, no difference.

I thought they were Asym, designed to have the head at the left side of the "head" end, and feet to the right of where the bottom entry is/was? Of course, I guess with an HH zip model it will no longer be obvious which end is the head end. But are these hammocks no longer asym?

The Hennessy Zip models are designed to have the zipper on the right when laying in the hammock. We have been told that there is no difference in the lay, therefore you can have the zipper on either side. When we convert the zipper model into our mod #4, we put the stock zipper on the right.

Interesting, I thought they were designed to have the zipper on the left as well. I'll have to try laying in my DJ with the zipper on the right I guess.

I could be wrong...but that has been my understanding. The Hennessy label is always on the right tie out point. That is the side the stock zipper is on. Send an e-mail to Hennessy and ask. ZQ

I am laying with the zipper on the left side and the ridge line on the right side of my head. Works great.

Well so far I have been laying with the zipper to my right and my head in the left hand corner & my feet in the right hand corner. I am finding it to be very comfy. I have the HH SS equipped which has the bottom entrance. After putting it on I made the foot end the end where the bottom entrance on the SS is. I just took my hammock off an old stand I had because I was hanging too close to the ground. Hehe, was too hard to get up from with a bad back. Anyway I made another place to hang using Eye Bolts. One attached to the corner of my house and the other attached a tree 15ft away. My hang highth is now where it needs to be, but my view is not as good as it was when on the stand. Changing my lay to the other end would give me a better view. Thats why I was asking. just to let y'all know.

I plan on getting the zipper mod done once I get the extra funds and I can't wait. I love the bug net which I am sure will be very handy for the 8 months out of the year here in Texas where the mosquitos are out in force. Right now however I am finding the bug net is not needed and is quite frankly in the way.

I usually lay the opposite of what Hennessey recommends. The zipper is on my left. That way, when I partially unzip the netting I'm looking directly up at blue sky. When laying the other way you have to unzip the entire side to get the netting out of view straight up. ( I like watching the birds in early morning.) If there's a difference in the "lay" I can't tell.
