A weird tarp question.

I have two Hilleberg tents Nallo and Staika. They never fail. All who have used Hilleberg tents say that the biggest problem in buying tent is which one of all the models from Hilleberg to choose, but on the other hand no need to check any other manufacturer.

But the complete version (little heavier XP fabric) with guy lines, pegs, poles and tarp will cost 645$, so it doubles Your budget. But trust me if the format suits for Your purpose You will not regret getting Hilleberg product.

I’ve never seen those before. That looks like one heck of a shelter. It looks a little more involved than I want to get. I would like to be able to set up the shelter in about 5-10 minutes or so, because I will be setting it up every night. And yes, it’s a little out of my shelter budget.

It should be 5-10 minutes, it depends of the ground. 1) Side poles up with one guy line each, so 8 pegs and guylines. 2) Center pole up 3) Some adjustments and ready.

So, if ground is good and pegs go in easily and sturdy enough no problems.

Here in Finland we have almost all used similar tent made of canvas and used with stove - it is similar as old military model (WW II) and we have a common obligatory 6-11 months military service. (But Hilleberg is Swedish company, and as they say original model is probably yurt-inspired.)

Here is Finnish army version of the same concept, for 12-20 soldier (so called "half platoon tent" but actually every platoon has three of them. Or at least had, I served 15 years ago, maybe they have got something better now.)

I've got one of these and works great. we had one at the hammock hang last year and we had about 6 to 8 people in it with a table...

They are wonderful, but hardly football sized.

I have a 12x12 Sportsman's Guide tarp, rigged for a diamond pitch. Two trees, two stakes, and a couple of poles, and you're done. Something similar in sil should satisfy the OP's needs.

id try an old dusty surplus shop for an old army canvas one, idk seems like canvas would be the best for a base camp since all nylons disintegrate in the UV rays after only a couple of years...
