    February In Ohio

Relocated thread location for planning February Southern Ohio Hang.

My work is flexible so I could do any days Thursday night through Monday morning and the last weekend I'm out of town. So that leaves the 11-13 or the 18-20 for me. I could do a 1 nighter any night if all else fails.

My only experiences are with Wildcat Hollow and Zaleski.

Feb might be out for me. I get back from CO the 11th and my kid has BBall games every sat through feb. I'll keep my eye out for a window though.

Got my Superfly , so now I am up for

a test hang somewhere. Not looking for too many miles though - I am just getting back into backpacking and frankly am in loush condition! And a Sun-Mon trip is a possibility.

Wildcat Hollow has a great opportunities for short hike (500 feet) or longer distances (20+miles).

Zaleski also has a road walk to site B that is under .5 miles via road walk. You could also hike the 1.5-2 miles to the same spot and day hike opportunities longer than that.

So either of those are a viable option for extremely short hikes in to longer-ish.

ok, here goes......Sunday February 20th, and for those who can, monday the 21st. We will hang at wildcat hollow. Somewhere near where we hung back in december. there are tons of trees/pine forests. I will be there sunday around 3-ish and i will stay until tuesday morning. There is no credible water source, so cacheing your water is a must. I can advise where to do so if needed.

    Who is with me?

Perfect, I'll probably be there Friday-Mon morning. Can we fit multiple cars on that forest road?

I'll park at the trailhead and hike the 2 miles in....gotta stretch my legs. I will do a water drop up near there though. you could park 2 cars max. you have to leave room for emergency vehicles to get in since its not a designated spot. you are safer parking at the bottom of the hill and hiking up like i will be doing.

Great, I'll hit the trailhead and leave the forest road for those arriving late or don't want the hike in.
