    Heavier hangers using 1.1 singles

I've just been curious if there is any "heavier" people on here using the 1.1 singles. How do they perform for you? Are they comfortable? Too much stretch? Wear and tear? By heavier I mean pushing the weight limit to over the limit, not meaning so much heavier people. I'm 185, so just at the weight limit.

I recently got a traveler single 1.1 and sadly haven't had the time to test it out, but as soon as I do I will report back. I was just wondering how other people at different sizes feel about these.

Is it sad that lighter hammocks are a motivater to me dropping some pounds. Haha

That's great Wags. Let me know how it works for ya. I know Raul perez has a single 1.1 blackbird and he says its great. Not sure of his weight though.

i figured why not? if i don't like it warbonnets have great resale value here. i'm sure i'd barely take a hit if i don't like it...

but if i do like it, enough to keep my 32oz 1.1 blackbird at home, i'm saving like 11 ounces

if you think the single 1.1 stretches too much, the sl1.7 and dl1.0 would stretch alot less than the single 1.1 yet still be lighter than the double 1.1.

i prefer the support of single 1.7, the single 1.1 has more shoulder squeeze and is less flat (for me at 160) in comparison... but it's not too bad so i could see it being a fair tradeoff for someone looking to shave the weight.

There ya go! Did you get a single layer blackbird? Or traveler? Another reason I'm curious with other people is because I've been thinking about selling my unused hennessy expedition and save up for another blackbird. Either a single 1.1 or 1.7. I got one of the last black double 1.1s and a black single 1.1 traveler and since they're not made anymore, and the traveler never was, I don't ever want to use them, haha. Kind of my prized posessions in a way, hah.

If you don't want the single layer, give me a heads up.

i too have a black 1.1 single layer traveler... my other hammock is a double layer blackbird 1.1 in grayish green... i don't like green at all or the 1.7 single layer traveler would've been the easy choice. oh well, time will tell

Thanks for chiming in Brandon. I didn't even think about shoulder squeeze. Can't wait to get a chance to try mine out. It looks amazing though. The blackbird is amazing.

Glad to hear someone else is going to be enjoying the black traveler. Again if it doesn't work for you, give me a heads up. I'm in the process of dropping pounds, and my natural weight should be right around the max flatness rating for it. If I ever get to it, 40lbs to go, haha.

My DIY B2 Stealth is 1.1 single layer and although I have only slept in it twice (inside the house), so far it is good. I weight right at 195-200, 5'11". Shoulder squeeze really causes me pain, but no issues yet.

I use a 1.1 ounce singe layer DIY and it is very comfortable. I weigh in at 200 pounds give or take a couple. I really love how light it is and have no complaints with it. I am less certain of its longevity, though, as I haven't had it long.
