the simple answer is yes, but it dose matter in if you get a good hammock that will serve all your needs or not.

Those of you who are section hikers, how do you manage the transportation issues? Two cars, trail angels, some other solution? I would like to do my first section this summer and the transportation question is my biggest concern.

Depends on what's available. If there is a safe place to park your car you can do a good section of the trail and take an another trail that intersects and make a loop back to your car.

You can get dropped off and picked up at a later date by a friend or family member.

You can use public transportation to get you to the trail and get you back home.

For instance in my hike coming up I am going to be dropped off at the trail head and then hike my way in town at the end of my trek to the train station to get me back home.
