No, it can be spliced - I just got done making a few things with it a couple hours ago. It is 1.75mm Zing-it/Fling-it 8 strand rope from Samson. Paul just gets big spools of it and sells it by the foot.
It is very small, and splicing rope that diameter isn't exactly fun or easy, but it's definitely possible.
Great! Glad I was wrong
Thank you for the quick answer
Just picked up a roll of Fling at a local aborist supply shop and have been practicing with a small section of it... no luck so far. I can splice into the two ends, but I'm really struggling with get the bury.
What has been the most successful approach/tools used to complete the loop?
I use .023 welding wire (or smaller) folded in half. Works the charm.
Is it "Fling-It", and not "Zing-It" or "Lash-It"? (Fling-It is bright orange, Zing-It is yellow, and Lash-It is gray).
Fling-It is nearly impossible to splice (whoopie-sling / UCR type). It's not the same thing as Zing-It / Lash-It. Different company, different build. Fling-It is pre-stretched, so it's much tighter than the other two styles.
Just a heads up.
The stuff Paul carries, unless he's changed anything, and I don't think he has, is plenty easy to splice with thin gauge wire. Excellent product.

Yeah... definite typo on the Fling It. I've been told that it's possible, but after spending several hours over the course of the last couple days and a couple beers, I've given up hope trying to make it work.
Paul actually responded to one of my posts over at BPL. Unfortunately I won't have enough time (trying to make something work for this wknd) to go with AHE. Fling It was available locally. I'm glad I used a ft of it to test out... hoping they'll take the return.
